How to Install and Set Up Quick Heal Total Security
Quick Heal Total Security offers robust protection, especially with its dedicated Safe Banking features. To ensure it runs smoothly and doesn't conflict with your operating system, follow this clean installation guide.
Step 1: System Preparation
The most common cause of antivirus installation failure is software conflict. Before you begin installing Quick Heal, you must remove any existing third-party antivirus software from your PC.
- Go to Windows Settings > Apps > Installed Apps.
- Find any old antivirus software (like a pre-installed McAfee trial) and select "Uninstall."
- Restart your computer to clear the registry.
Step 2: Downloading and Installing
Log into your Quick Heal account on their official website and download the latest installer file.
- Double-click the downloaded `.exe` file to launch the setup wizard.
- Accept the End User License Agreement.
- When prompted, enter your 20-digit Product Key. You can find this in your purchase confirmation email.
- Click "Install" and wait for the process to complete. This usually takes 2-3 minutes.
Step 3: The Initial Update and Scan
Once installed, Quick Heal will open its main dashboard. Do not start browsing the web just yet.
First, click the Update button. The software needs to download the latest virus definitions from the GoDeep.AI servers to protect against zero-day threats. Once the update is complete, run a Full System Scan. This maps your clean files and makes future background scans much faster.
Configuring Safe Banking
To use the Safe Banking feature, look for the "Safe Banking" icon on your desktop after installation. Clicking this will launch an isolated browser session that protects your keystrokes from being logged while you enter your financial details.
